What We Do
JVT Construction have undertaken a variety of upland restoration projects for Local Authorities and large public and private landowners across the North West of England. We have the capabilities to adapt to changing situations in the working environment and believe that working together in partnership with the client and other third party stakeholders we can successfully deliver projects.
We have worked on many restoration projects including upland catchment sites owned by United Utilities, delivering the Sustainable Catchment Management Programme 2010-2015.
We are experienced in working on sensitive water catchments which have required specialist low pressure tracked machinery to be used in order to deliver the work on time and with little or no impact on sensitive habitats such as blanket bog.
Our Approach
Much of the land we have worked on for many of our clients has had statutory designations such as SSSi (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) BHS, (Biological Heritage Sites), Special Protection Areas (SPA’S) and AONB’s (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) all these types of landscape require a suite of packages and methods to implement the work correctly, efficiently and in order to protect the environment.

This means that we can design and deliver to a tight programme while also being flexible enough to overcome inevitable challenges that we are faced with in the environment or changing climate

Darwen Moor South
The area lies within the West Pennine Moors at the southern end of Darwen Moors, including Wildings Moor, to the immediate north of Cadshaw Valley. It comprises Blanket bog with numerous drains (grips) and several deep eroding gullies.
